FORTUNATO MIZZI , son of Giuseppe Mizzi and Gemma German, was born on the 22nd of November 1917.
Fortunato studied law at the University of Malta and he was called to the bar in 1943.
He was married to Helen née Grech Cumbo and they had four children: Maria, Angele, Victoria and Rosanne.
Dr. Mizzi was a member of the legislative assembly in Nationalist Party interests between 1950 and 1951. He served as a minister before Malta gained independence in 1964. He served as justice minister in 1951 and education minister between 1951 and 1952. He was acting magistrate between 1957 and 1959 and served as magistrate for Gozo until 1963 and for Malta until 1971. He was appointed judge in 1971 and served until 1980.
Judge Fortunato Mizzi died on the 21st of July 1997 at the age of 79.
